Parenting Today's Teens

Though no job is more difficult, no reward is more fulfilling than to see your child grow “in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and men” (Luke 2:52). Parenting teenagers can be a challenge in today’s world with so many temptations to make wrong decisions. This class on parenting teens will feature a Christian DVD with professionals in the field of parenting followed by group discussion on the challenges and joys that parents of teenagers experience. Parents of all age children are welcome to join us to discuss the following topics:

  • Parents need to make adjustments as their children transition into teens
  • Being a good role model should be a parent’s goal
  • Learn different parenting styles and how to affect teens
  • Do’s and don’ts of effective discipline
  • Nurture Godly character in your teenager

Discovering God's Grace Through Grief

"I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security" says the Lord. Jeremiah 33:6

Have you lost a job, a loved one or had to make a drastic change in your lifestyle? Grief is a powerful and complex experience that happens to us when we have suffered a significant loss. Most people think of grief associated with the loss of a loved one. But it can involve any kind of loss. A level of grief can be experienced through job loss and transition. God's grace is with us in our grief, pushing and pulling us through, even though we may not feel it. Because of this grace; we have the strength to face life and the power to move on.
