Prayer in the Chapel
Every Sunday beginning at 7:45 am members of the congregation come together to share Holy Communion with the pastors and then continue to pray for all aspects of the day's services. The Chapel is open for prayer support and personal prayer from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm on Sundays.
Prayers of the People
During all our worship services, the church family lifts up requests for prayer and expressions of praise and joy. This is a regular part of our worship celebration.
Prayer Requests
Cards are available in the pews and on the table outside the church office. To submit a prayer request, email Pam Mormann .
Church & Community Prayer Services
From time to time, we offer community-wide ecumenical prayer services or prayer services for specific needs of our congregation. We hosted 40 Days of Prayer for the City of Peoria beginning January 1, 2008. We will again host 40 Days of Prayer for the City beginning January 1, 2009. FUMC Peoria, in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day, will host a 24 hour fast and prayer vigil beginning Monday, December 1st at 6 pm to plea for God's healing to come to our city and throughout the world.
Police & Firefighters' Prayer Ministry
One of our vital Community Ministries is the prayer ministry for Peoria Police, Peoria Park District Police and the Peoria Firefighters. Additional information on this ministry is available in our Community Ministries section of the web.
Teach Us to Pray
Children in the primary grades learn about and experience prayer in the Chapel, Sanctuary and classroom. Parents and clergy are also involved.
Prayer Chain
Many members of our congregation receive a weekly prayer chain by mail or email. To request the prayer chain list for your own times of prayer, email Pam Mormann.
Prayer Team
This team meets in the Chapel every Monday from 7:00 - 8:00 am for prayer for the church, nation and world. New prayer warriors are always welcome..
Prayers for our Military
This prayer ministry for men and women serving in the military who are associated with FUMC. Quarterly prayer services in the Chapel offer an opportunity to pray in a group setting for specific service men and women. In addition to praying together, you are invited to become a pen pal with a military person if you desire to offer personal communication and encouragement. Contact Pat Kirby for more information. |
