K.I.X. Klub
(Kids In Christ - "X" as the Greek symbol for Christ)
K.I.X. Klub is a special pre-teen ministry for our older elementary children in 4th, 5th and 6th grade. Meeting once or twice a month from September through May, the group focuses on developing discipleship and nurturing Christian fellowship. The highlight of the year is a winter retreat.
For most events, pre-teens have the option of inviting friends from outside the church, and these friends - even those with a church home - are encouraged to become a regular part of K.I.X. Klub. Because of space limitations in the lodge for the Winter Retreat, January 9-10, 2009, the retreat is for our kids who are members or connected to FUMC. Friends who have attended at least two other K.I.X. Klub events are also able to attend. So if your pre-teen wants a friend to go to the retreat, the friend must have attended a couple of K.I.X. Klub activities. Attendance at Summer VBS ’08 would also count as one of these events.
Parent help is a necessity! We need adult counselors at all events. Including our kids and their friends, activities can easily have 30 plus kids in attendance. For out-of-church events, adults who are willing to provide transportation are also needed. The church bus, which holds 13 kids, is typically used and then other vehicles and drivers are required. Please let me know if you’d like to participate as a counselor and/or driver for an upcoming event.
Yearly registration form - all members of K.I.X. Klub must complete each year so that information is current. Friends who plan to become a regular part of K.I.X. will also be asked to complete a form. However, permission forms for individual events will still be used.
