Youth @ FUMC - Building a Foundation for a Lifetime |
Worship, fellowship, service, and discipleship make up the fabric of First United Methodist Church Youth Ministry. Each week, students find a Christ-centered, energetic environment to grow in faith and friendship through games, worship, and learning. A dedicated core of youth counselors and teachers guide students through the week-to-week activities and help develop meaningful relationships within the group.
The Youth Ministry at FUMC is focused on providing opportunities for personal spiritual growth and helping students further discover their identity in Christ through mission work, summer camp, weekend retreats, worship and fun.

The Youth Director - Mitch Saad |
Hello, my name is Mitch Saad and I’m the Director of Youth Ministries at Peoria FUMC. I grew up in the small town of Erie, IL and attended the Erie United Methodist Church. In high school I was active in church and youth group as well as school and sports. I graduated high school in 2004 and then went to Greenville College in Greenville, IL. While there I ran on the Track & Field team for four years and double majored in Accounting and Business Management. I was also involved with the Methodist Church in Greenville and was a volunteer leader for their youth group. I graduated in 2008 and went to the Kanakuk Institute, which is a one-year Bible and youth ministry training program in Branson, MO. While there I also studied for and earned a Master’s of Arts in Youth and Family Ministries from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR. God opened the doors and directed my path to FUMC, and I am very blessed and thankful to be here. My goal with the FUMC youth is to impact their lives for the cause of Christ through discipleship based ministry. I want to see the young people of our community stand firm in their faith and glorify Jesus in all they do, say, and are. Feel free to contact me about any questions, comments, concerns, etc. at any time.
