FUMC Peoria Youth Ministries are sponsoring the Dream 2020 Event, presented by Dream Center Peoria.

What does it mean to dream big, to dream beyond the here and now, and to set your sights on a greater plan? Bestselling author and internationally known speaker, Bob Goff, will join his friends from Dream Center Peoria to provide an evening of laughter, wisdom, and purpose. Youth and those young at heart are invited to join us for a telecast of DCP's end of year gathering.

Dream 2020 will take place October 20 at  6 PM. Join us for dinner and the keynote with Bob Goff. You may attend part or all of the event, but please register now since space is limited.
A special note from Kristy Schofield, Director of Homeless & Housing for the Dream Center Peoria:

“2020 has been a roller coaster in the homeless world.  We have had to learn a whole new way to live in a congregate setting.  We have remained steadfast in our commitment to provide dignity, compassion, and purpose to our homeless clients while keeping them in a safe environment.  We have had to be teachers, caregivers, and protectors.

“We are preparing for the moratorium on evictions to end, and this will spur a dramatic influx of families into our center.  Each day we average 45 to 60 individuals in our shelter. But, with the moratorium approaching, we are planning for many more.  We are working to ensure that when that happens we will be prepared to maintain social distancing and good hygiene.

“We are preparing for safety.  Last year we served 800 women, children, and families.  We also serve single parent fathers.  We are led by our belief that our Lord directs us to care for the least of His children.  We take that directive seriously. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year we are here for those in need.  We provide not only safety but a path to a better life and permanent housing.  We provide food, job search, skills assistance, clothing, and other client needs.  We want this to be their last stay in homelessness.  We work to provide the path to self-sufficiency.”
